What to know before you get started.

What does day-to-day use look like?
Answr answers the repetitive stuff on WhatsApp from your confirmed business knowledge, and pulls you in only when it's unsure - sending a short TL;DR and a direct question so you can decide once and move on. Correct it in plain language; corrections become confirmed knowledge. You can pause auto-replies anytime.
What happens if I jump into a customer conversation myself?
When Answr sees an owner reply in a thread within the last 24 hours, it stays silent in that conversation and won't compete with you or confuse the customer. When you stop engaging, Answr can resume.
What sources can I feed Answr?
Your website, docs, PDFs, price lists, policies, product catalogs, chat exports, and optionally a CRM or order tool. You can also teach it in plain language on WhatsApp. Sources aren't treated as truth automatically - Answr relies on confirmed knowledge and asks when something should become official.
What does setup look like?
Setup is WhatsApp-first. Sign up, move to WhatsApp, feed it sources, run a simulation. All of these steps work with regular WhatsApp. Only when you're ready to go live do you connect a WhatsApp Business number (free through Meta).
Do I need to talk to someone to activate it?
No. Fully self-serve end to end - no calls, no human gatekeeper.
How is this different from a chatbot?
Chatbots optimize to always respond, even when unsure - that's how confident wrong answers happen. Answr optimizes for business truth: it doesn't guess, asks you when uncertain, needs zero flow charts, learns from every correction, and updates in real time from WhatsApp.
How do I know it won't invent policies?
It's conservative by design. Answers are gated by confidence and anchored in your approved sources and confirmed decisions. Anything outside that triggers a handoff rather than a "best guess."
Can I test it before it talks to real customers?
Yes. Simulation mode lets you try customer-style questions, see exactly how it responds, and validate tone and accuracy before anything touches production.
Do you use the official WhatsApp / Meta API?
Yes. Answr connects through Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API). No scraping, no unofficial automations, no asking for your personal WhatsApp login. Answr is a Meta Tech Provider.
Does Answr support voice messages?
Yes - voice messages are transcribed and handled like text.
Does it work on my existing WhatsApp number?
For setup, training, and simulation - yes. You can do all of that on regular WhatsApp. To go live with real customers, you need WhatsApp Business. Once you're comfortable after testing, connect a WhatsApp Business number - you can use your existing phone number.
Can I keep using the WhatsApp Business app while Answr is running?
Yes. You keep using the WhatsApp Business app normally and Answr works alongside it. If you reply to a conversation yourself, Answr goes quiet in that thread for the mute window (12 hours by default from your last reply) - it won't compete with you or confuse the customer. It keeps handling all other conversations normally. You can change the mute window length anytime by messaging Answr.
What if I use WhatsApp Business for personal contacts too?
Answr distinguishes between customer messages and personal conversations, and only handles customer inquiries. You can also block any number at any time so Answr becomes completely blind to it.
Will I lose control once it's live?
No. You can pause auto-replies at any time. When you reply directly, Answr goes quiet in that conversation for the mute window (12 hours by default - adjustable or removable). You can also control when it replies - immediately, after a delay, or only during specific hours and days. Change anything anytime by messaging Answr.
What stops it from learning the wrong thing - one-time exceptions, edge cases?
Answr doesn't silently learn from everything that happens in chats. It only turns outcomes into reusable knowledge when you confirm them - so a one-time exception stays a one-time exception instead of becoming a permanent rule.
What if my business info changes all the time - prices, policies, availability?
That's expected. Upload updated sources or tell Answr the new rule in plain language on WhatsApp - the new information replaces the old behavior instead of staying out of sync for weeks.
Does Answr require flow builders, rules, or complex setup?
No. No decision trees, no brittle automations to maintain. You provide sources and instructions in plain language - Answr replies when confident and escalates when not. The system stays in sync with reality without becoming a second job.
Can I control when and how Answr replies?
Yes - timing is entirely in your hands, in plain language on WhatsApp. By default Answr replies immediately, but you can set a delay ("wait 10 minutes before replying"), a time window ("only reply Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm"), or adjust the mute window that kicks in when you reply yourself. Switch back to immediate anytime: "reply immediately".
How much does it cost?
Answr has two plans. Free - first month free, includes setup, training, and simulation. Unlimited - $149/month - everything in Free, with unlimited messages and external system connections. No credit card required to start, cancel anytime.
What counts as a "message"?
A message is one reply Answr sends to a customer on WhatsApp. Incoming messages from customers don't count - only the replies Answr sends back. Each reply counts as one message regardless of length.
Why do I need a Facebook account to connect?
WhatsApp is owned by Meta (Facebook). Connecting a WhatsApp Business number to an external service like Answr requires a Facebook account - it's Meta's standard connection process and there's no way around it. Meta also requires a digital presence for the business - a website, Facebook page, Instagram, TikTok, or even a personal Facebook profile. Answr is an official Meta Technology Provider, so the connection is secure and goes through Meta's official channel.
What is the Business Brain and how do I access it?
After setup, Answr sends you a link to the Business Brain page - a visual summary of everything Answr knows about your business: knowledge, restrictions, instructions, style, identity, saved files, and blocked numbers. You can edit anything directly on the page. The link is valid for 24 hours - ask for a fresh one anytime: "show me my business brain".
What languages does Answr reply in?
The agent replies in whatever language the customer uses. Supported languages include Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Hindi, and more. Special care is taken for Hebrew, Arabic, and Russian to keep responses native-sounding rather than translated.
What if there are numbers I don't want Answr to reply to?
You can block any number - Answr becomes completely blind to it: no replies, no data stored. On the WhatsApp Business App path, Answr also automatically detects personal and non-business conversations and blocks them on its own. You can unblock any number anytime.
